Triton is expanding and looking to welcome a Payroll & Benefits Coordinator to our accounting team!

Your Impact

Payroll Processing

  • Administer payroll for up to 400 employees across multiple provinces (primarily AB and BC).
  • Enter payroll and benefits data into systems (e.g., Ceridian Dayforce).
  • Ensure payroll is completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable legislation.
  • Prepare and post payroll journal entries, including accruals.
  • Reconcile payroll liability accounts and support bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll runs.
  • Assist with year-end and new-year payroll requirements.
  • Handle payroll-related audits and reconciliations.
  • Maintain documentation for audit and record-keeping purposes.

Benefits Administration

  • Support health, dental, life insurance, and pension/RRSP programs.

  • Act as a liaison with external benefits providers.

  • Maintain employee benefits records and process changes accurately.

  • Assist with benefits-related reporting and compliance activities.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit reports to third parties (e.g., Service Canada, WorkSafeBC, CRA).

  • Ensure compliance with provincial payroll regulations and organizational policies.

  • Maintain documentation for all reporting and accounting entries.

System & Data Management

  • Maintain employee records including new hires, terminations, and payroll/benefits changes.

  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure data integrity and system integration.

  • Contribute to system configurations and functional design documents.

  • Assist with data migration and process mapping.

  • Support the full lifecycle of payroll system implementations (Dayforce – testing, troubleshooting, training).

Stakeholder Support

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits.

  • Provide backup and support for other payroll team members.

  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on Dayforce functionality**.**

Note: Responsibilities may evolve as business needs grow and as you build your skills in the role.

Your Skills & Experience

Education & Certification

  • High School Diploma (minimum).

  • Additional education in Accounting, HR, or Benefits is an asset.

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification required or in progress.

  • Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred.

Experience

  • 2+ years of full-cycle Canadian payroll and benefits experience.

  • Experience with multi-provincial payroll operations.

  • Experience implementing or supporting Dayforce WFM or other workforce management solutions is an asset.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in Ceridian Dayforce (considered a strong asset).

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.

  • Experience with system configuration and data migration (preferred but not required).

Soft Skills

  • Strong customer service and stakeholder relationship skills.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication abilities.

  • High level of discretion and integrity with confidential information.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Adaptability to frequent interruptions and changing priorities.

Work Schedule & Flexibility

This is a full-time, permanent position. We offer a hybrid work model—a combination of in-office collaboration and remote flexibility—to support work-life balance while staying connected with your team.

Your Compensation

Salary: $65,000 - $72,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
