What You’ll Contibute To The Team Black & McDonald’s Southern Ontario Electrical Construction team is growing and we’re looking for a Senior Project Manager who is independent, enthusiastic, and driven. If you’re ready to build a strong foundation for your career while leading impactful projects, this role is for you.

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be based on-site and report directly to the Division Manager. You’ll take ownership of planning, organizing, and delivering projects from start to finish ensuring they meet schedule, specifications, and budget. Your focus will be on safety, quality, cost control, and effective communication with all stakeholders.

In This Role, You Will

  • Lead assigned projects to achieve cost, schedule, quality, safety, and contract performance goals
  • Define project objectives, policies, and performance standards in alignment with company and contract requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Develop and manage construction schedules and milestones
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations, company policies, and contractual obligations
  • Monitor progress, productivity, budgets, and forecasts, providing accurate reports
  • Prepare estimates and negotiate scope changes as needed
  • Draft and manage contracts, including revisions and additions
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring deficiencies are corrected promptly
  • Coordinate material and equipment availability for trades
  • Complete monthly cost forecasts and weekly productivity reports accurately and on time

What You Bring To The Team We’re looking for a proven leader with the skills and experience to deliver exceptional results. Here’s what will set you up for success in this role:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or Construction Management OR a Red Seal Electrical Journeyperson certification
  • 10+ years of Project Management experience in a unionized construction environment
  • Proven track record managing large-scale electrical ICI projects
  • Experience leading major projects valued at $50M or more
  • Expertise in overseeing projects from concept through commissioning

Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements To excel in this role, you should bring a strong mix of technical expertise, leadership, and organizational skills, including:

  • Construction estimation, scheduling, planning, and execution
  • Ability to interpret project designs and specifications
  • Knowledge of division practices, procedures, and business operations
  • Strong organization and time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • PMP designation (asset)
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Knowledge of Procore Construction Management Software
