Summary of the role
The System Engineer BOP bridges the boundaries between engineering and project management for the Balance of Plant equipment (piping, HPU, instrumentation, etc.), leading the technical activities with the Engineering, Procurement and Installation teams. The SE is the primary technical point of contact for the customer for this BOP scope and reports to the Project Manager.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Ensures effective coordination between engineering, procurement, construction, and project controls groups, as well as with the customer;
- Organizes and facilitates internal and customer meetings regarding technical activities and design reviews;
- Ensures stakeholders interpret the technical specification and expectations correctly;
- Defines the technical strategy and the supply plan in collaboration with the Project Manager and the Procurement Department;
- Participates in the selection, negotiations and technical discussions of the main suppliers and sub-contractors ;
- Responsible for making sure engineering deliverables and supply deliveries are made on-time and according to established quality criteria for all systems related to their projects;
- Follows-up on Non-Conformances and Change Management with the customer and engineering;
- In collaboration with the Project Manager, analyzes, defines and implements a contingency plan to correct any issues or deviations that can have an impact on their projects.

- Bachelor of Mechanical or Electrical Engineering;
- Certified member of the O.I.Q.;
- Experience in the fields of hydroelectricity, energy producing equipment or related design and manufacturing activities;
- Proven leadership and experience in technical coordination of engineering activities and subcontracting;
- Good verbal and written communication skills in French and English.
