Team Manager, Disability Intervention Services

We are looking for a Team Manager, Disability Intervention Services.
The Team Manager Disability Intervention Services is to provide supervision, coaching and support to the team of Rehabilitation Consultants to ensure the provision of consistent, high quality and cost-effective service delivery.
What you will do:

Ensuring the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the day to day services provided by the team of Rehabilitation Consultants

Coaching, supervision, and performance management of the Rehabilitation Consultants on the team
-
Recruiting of new staff, and oversight of new staff development throughout the orientation, training and mentoring period
-
Assessment of individual staff development needs on an ongoing basis
-
Acting as a technical expert to the team on medical coordination and disability management issues
-
Ensuring that the Rehabilitation Consultants understand and follow Canada Life's claims philosophy and practices
-
Assisting the Rehabilitation Consultants to develop realistic, cost-effective rehabilitation plans
-
Reviewing and approving the Rehabilitation Consultant’s rehab plans/expenses according to the authority approval process
-
Ensuring effectiveness of the quality program which involves the completion of Quality Program reviews (assessing plan cost effectiveness, timeliness, and duration of interventions by local Rehabilitation Consultants’); and identifying areas of development that require further coaching

Monitoring data and reports on Disability Intervention Services effectiveness and individual Rehabilitation Consultant’s statistical results related to service standards

Communicating to the local Rehabilitation Consultants regarding new initiatives affecting the Disability Intervention Services and Disability Management Service organizations

Working in collaboration with all staff of the Disability Management Services Office, as well as the staff from the Group Sales Office

Participating in the delivery of joint training (along with Disability Management Services Office management) regarding national initiatives impacting claims and Disability Intervention Services
-
Promoting/supporting return to employability meetings within the Disability Management Services Office management team

Promoting Disability Intervention Services with customers and managing the customer/client relationships affiliated with the Disability Management Services claims operation

Providing input into issues as a member of the Disability Intervention Services management team
What you will bring:
-
Degree in a discipline related to vocational rehabilitation/rehabilitation counseling or experience in disability management as in a licensed health care provider
-
Five to seven years’ experience in the insurance rehabilitation or the field of disability management
-
Proven leadership skills
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-
Lead change management practices and drive continuous improvement

Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
The base salary for this position is between $70,500-$117,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
