Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Director (Level 2 or 3) & Driver to support the daily operations of our Okotoks centre. Reporting to the Centre Director, this hands-on role combines classroom leadership, operational support, and the safe transportation of school-age children to and from local schools.
The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time supporting children, educators, and classroom routines while assisting with centre operations, compliance, and administrative responsibilities as needed.
Please Note: This position includes daily transportation responsibilities. Candidates must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and provide a clean driver's abstract. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting school-age children to and from local schools while following all company transportation policies and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Centre Director with daily centre operations and regulatory compliance. Provide classroom coverage and maintain staff-to-child ratios. Support, coach, and mentor educators. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Assist with scheduling, attendance tracking, and daily centre operations. Deliver high-quality care and learning experiences for children. Ensure compliance with Kids & Company policies and Alberta childcare regulations. Safely transport school-age children to and from local schools. Complete vehicle safety checks and maintain transportation records. Follow all transportation, health, and safety procedures.
Qualifications
Alberta Early Childhood Educator Certification Level 2 or Level 3 required. Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare setting. Previous leadership, supervisory, or Assistant Director experience considered an asset. Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR certification. Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search. Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract. Comfortable and confident transporting children to and from school. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
