Position Overview

In the Product Sustainment (PS) organization, the incumbent will be supporting obsolescence for in service devices (active obsolescence monitoring, generation and presentation of obsolescence reports). The incumbent will be working with the engineering team to find replacement solutions and present them to clients. Additionally, he/she will support all obsolescence management efforts within the Product Sustainment Organization through data collection and analysis. He/She might, on some occasions, be required to travel to customer sites.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide ad hoc obsolescence management support
  • Initiate, support and track hardware requests (mSIMissues)
  • Generate obsolescence reports and present them to customers
  • Manage obsolescence meeting action Items
  • Perform report data analysis
  • Perform and interface with clients for Last Time Buys (LTB)
  • Perform hardware research for obsolete items
  • LCC (Life Cycle Cost) reports/Sparing data support
  • Travel might be required to present reports
  • Identify and promote improvements opportunities, creative solutions, that will drive growth and success.
  • Support or lead improvement projects or the implementation of corporate or departmental initiatives (Culture Evolution, Employees Engagement, Health & Safety, etc.).

Required Skills & Experience

  • Vocational or technical degree or equivalent required
  • 2-5 years of experience in the simulation industry would be preferred
  • Ability to solve problems by applying methods that were used in identical/similar situations. You may sometimes have to gather information to understand available solutions or the best approach to take.
  • Works on both new business/proposal phase and after contract award
  • Promotes and adheres to the CAE values (One CAE, Integrity, Innovation, Excellence, Empowerment)
  • Self-motivated and result oriented
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and business acumen
  • Ability to work either independently or in a team
  • Able to handle fast paced environment with short deadlines
  • Ability to create and nurture relationship with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Customer focus: dedicated to meeting client expectations, sensitive to concerns with various stakeholders (internal and external)
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Bilingualism in French and English is preferred
  • Availability of travel to customer sites
  • Knowledge of ITAR and export control restrictions would be an asset
