Position Status: Temporary Full-Time (4 months)

This position is open to candidates who have recently graduated (recent graduates are considered individuals who have graduated from an accredited university or college within the last 36 months);

Available: January 2026

Description of the Position:

As the Stewardship & Donor Relations Intern, you will support the planning and execution of stewardship and recognition initiatives to celebrate donors and strengthen their engagement with SickKids. This role offers hands-on experience in donor relations, gift acknowledgment, event support, and data management, while collaborating across teams to elevate the donor experience.

You will:

  • Support the delivery of stewardship and recognition activities for donors across all giving levels.
  • Help prepare thank-you letters, reports, and other donor communications.
  • Assist with organizing donor recognition opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate donor information and records in the database.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to gather stories and content that highlight donor impact.
  • Provide general administrative and project support to the Stewardship & Donor Relations team.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance the donor experience at SickKids Foundation.

Qualifications:

While we know that for any job posting no one candidate will possess the qualifications being sought in equal measure, below is an outline of the qualifications we believe are important for a candidate to bring to the position or for the successful candidate to develop while in the role:

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a bachelor’s degree program in Fundraising, Nonprofit Studies, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field
  • Prior volunteer or internship experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or communications is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with attention to tone, detail, and donor sensitivity
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Comfort working with data, reporting, and donor databases (experience with CRM is a plus)
  • Creative thinker with an interest in donor engagement, recognition, and impact storytelling
  • Team player mindset; ability to collaborate across departments
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive donor information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfort with digital tools

Total Compensation Package: $17.99 - $20.05/hour

Hours: 35-hour work week, hybrid work model (Tuesday and Wednesday in Office) Flexibility for additional days as required
