The INTREPID Lab is a hub for research and health services programing on nicotine addiction. Our goal is to synthesize and discover new knowledge in the treatment of nicotine addiction, validate technology-mediated methods and processes for delivering treatment and use these methods to scale up research discoveries to health services programs through our network of over 350 primary- and community-care partner organizations. In meeting its objectives, the INTREPID Lab works with technology vendors, in addition to creating its own technology-based methods and protocols, for research and subsequent integration into health services programs.

The INTREPID Lab at CAMH is seeking a dedicated and organized Program Officer to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis (12 months). Reporting directly to the Director of Innovation, Operations and Strategy, this role will be an integral member of the INTREPID Lab team and will work closely with research staff, trainees, scientists, managers, and directors, as well as other services across CAMH (e.g., Finance, Legal, and Research). This role will support and coordinate key processes related to a diverse portfolio of clinical, research, quality improvement, education, and knowledge mobilization initiatives.

The Program Officer will be responsible for the following primary activities:

  • Support the development and implementation of improvement processes, templates, forms, and reports
  • Develop, monitor, and provide in-depth review of documentation (e.g., project work plans, budgets) for compliance, completeness, and correctness
  • Provide support for grant development and implementation (e.g., review applications, prepare budgets, financial reporting, reconciliations, and documentation), as well as closeout procedures (e.g., invoicing and reporting)
  • Track project funding, milestones, and deliverables, as well as report and communicate any potential risks to the project team in a timely manner
  • Complete ongoing assessment of existing grants and evaluation of funding requirements
  • Review general ledger transactions and contracts for compliance
  • Develop and process contracts, including liaising with vendors, project teams, and CAMH services
  • Provide day-to-day operational support to the NDS team
  • Support training and on-boarding/ off-boarding of all new staff and trainees

The Program Officer will have superior writing skills, and will be expected to synthesize findings into various communication formats, including briefs, proposals, and presentations. The successful candidate will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable standards and requirements. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.

Job Requirements The successful candidate must have an undergraduate degree and 2+ years of related work experience in an administrative, coordination or research role, ideally in a public sector, academic, or healthcare setting. Familiarity with administrative processes related to program development, clinical research, education, and knowledge mobilization initiatives is essential and at minimum one year of research experience is preferred.

The candidate should have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing projects and operational processes, and experience with change management. The candidate should also have excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills, and exemplary attention to detail.
