Skilled Labourer - Job Description
Purpose:
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Skilled Labourer to join our residential construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, proven experience in low-rise residential construction, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively to support project success.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving heavy materials, tools, and equipment.
- Assist tradespeople and site supervisors with construction activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
- Prepare and maintain clean, organized work sites before, during, and after construction.
- Perform site clearing activities, including debris removal and snow clearing as needed.
- Follow detailed instructions from supervisors and communicate effectively to clarify tasks and expectations.
- Maintain strict adherence to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
- Participate as required in workplace Health and Safety procedures and initiatives.
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Proven ability to work independently and adapt to changing project needs.
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle (required for site mobility).
- Up-to-date Health and Safety Training.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Must wear appropriate clothing for weather conditions and have their own safety boots.
- Need to be proficient in the usage of hand tools.
- Carpentry skills will be an asset.
- Solid understanding of residential construction methods and materials is an asset.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in residential construction (low-rise preferred).
- Secondary School Diploma
