Description Under the direction of the Manager of IT Operations and Governance, the IT Configurator is responsible for the daily operations of the AWS and Azure platforms and applications which includes availability management, change management and incident management. You will have exciting opportunities to implement end to end Automation (CICD Pipelines), which includes security at its core. You will be building, maintaining, and supporting DevSecOps Platform and helping other teams to be self-supported.
The CloudOps Suppor will be part of an on-call rotation to allow for 24/7 incident management coverage for supporting, core and critical business applications as well as ensuring all production environment changes are deployed according to change management processes.
Responsibilities
- Working with cloud engineering team, Follow DevOps standards and practices to Build automation platform which can build and deploy applications and Infrastructure to AWS, Azure using automated pipelines.
- Enable applications development teams to deliver faster, more securely and with higher quality using DevOps tools and processes.
- Deploys, configures, manages, and performs ongoing maintenance of DevOps pipeline and tools code.
- Be the custodian of shared DevOps pipeline code and scripts for multiple technologies. Provide, maintain, and manage the appropriate release policy, processes, standards, and procedures.
- Create and improve the automated deployment processes, techniques, and tools.
- Involvement in DevSecOps operations, within Agile environments, such as implementing and reviewing security controls and artifacts on CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Terraform etc.).
- Monitor AWS daily operations including platform health, responding to alarms, warnings, and adding new alarms to prevent or mitigate system issues.
- Address and resolve incidents reported.
- Participate in complex incident resolution with the assistance of the respective Product team.
- Using internal and external customer feedback, ticket trends and Amazon monthly trusted advisor reports to improve customer experience.
- Participate in complex incident resolution with the assistance of the respective Product team.
- Investigate audit findings provided by the Security team or AWS security team for resolution or recommendation to maintain and improve platform security.
- Building relationships with vendors, internal users, and product teams is required to understand the overall impact of changes across all functional teams
- Identify and propose solutions for continuous improvements with peers and managers.
Qualifications
- College diploma or university degree in computer science/ engineering or closely related discipline
- Minimum of 3-5 years of demonstrated experience working with AWS, Azure, GitHub, GitHub Actions, and HCL Terraform platforms.
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, control tower and identity management.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
- Strong DevOps background with a security and automation mindset.
- Experience with source code management tools such as Bitbucket, GitHub, Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Static Code Analysis tools such as SonarQube and other similar tools.
- Experienced programming languages e.g., Java, C#, Python or similar.
- Working knowledge of SQL and NO SQL Databases.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a strong, collaborative multi-site team
- Excellent organizing, planning and time management skills.
- Self-directed and proactive; thinking beyond the immediate problem with ability to analyze situations/problems systematically and deliver effective right-sized solutions in a timely manner.
