Physics Masters – AI Training Specialist
About The Role
We're looking for physics experts to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models being developed by the world's leading AI research labs. Your deep understanding of physics will directly shape how AI reasons through complex scientific problems — making a real impact on the future of intelligent systems.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for Masters-level physicists who want to put their expertise to work in an exciting, high-impact field — no prior AI experience required.
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Design advanced physics problems spanning mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, quantum mechanics, and more to rigorously test AI reasoning Develop clear, step-by-step solutions with logically sound, well-structured explanations Evaluate AI-generated responses for accuracy, depth, and quality of scientific reasoning Collaborate with researchers to build and refine benchmarks across undergraduate to Masters-level physics topics Provide structured, actionable feedback that directly improves model performance
Who You Are
Currently pursuing or have completed a Masters degree in Physics, Applied Physics, or a closely related field Strong physics reasoning and problem-solving skills across multiple advanced domains Able to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and precisely in writing Detail-oriented with a rigorous, analytical approach to quality Self-motivated and comfortable working independently and asynchronously No prior AI or machine learning experience required
Nice to Have
Experience with data annotation, data quality assessment, or evaluation workflows Familiarity with large language models or AI benchmarking Background in teaching, tutoring, or academic writing
