The City of Port Moody is seeking an enthusiastic and hard working individual to safely operate a variety of machinery and mobile equipment involved in Parks. This is a regular, full-time position.
The Equipment Operator II will operate, clean and provide minor maintenance for a variety of equipment as required, including the gang mower. This position will perform routine, manual, semi-skilled maintenance activities on City infrastructure in Parks. This position is also responsible for operating a variety of hand tools, may act as traffic control person, respond to emergencies, respond to customer service requests and keep simple related records.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school graduation (Grade 12)
- Minimum three years of experience in turf maintenance operating a wide variety of small-medium sized equipment and hand tools associated with municipal parks maintenance, including, but not limited to: gang mower, trimmers, tractors, mini excavator, front end loader, blowers, tillers, pumps, etc.
- Experience in installation and maintenance of irrigation and drainage systems
- Ability to perform routine manual tasks in the maintenance, cleaning, and repair of parks assets
- Able to work independently, and lead crews as necessary
- Sufficient physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform heavy, manual, outdoor labour in all weather conditions
- Class 5 Driver's License (manual transmission required)
