Job Description RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary Under the supervision of students and fellows, the incumbent will contribute with general laboratory maintenance and perform basic molecular and cell biology experiments.

General Duties Under The Direction Of The Immediate Supervisor, The Incumbent

  • Takes inventory and monitors supplies of products necessary to performing duties,
  • Executes parts of molecular biology and cell biology experiments as indicated by the immediate supervisor.
  • Uses and maintains appropriate machinery, tools, materials, and instruments.
  • Informs immediate supervisor of any defects or irregularities, takes measures to rectify the situation,
  • Performs any other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Education / Experience

Education: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)

Work Experience: None.

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,

Additional information

Status: Temporary, part-time. 28 hours per workweek.

Pay Scale: $16.14-$26.43/hour. Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Variable Schedule.

Work Site: GLEN Site, 1001 boul. Decarie
