About the role
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Accountant to support a growing, multi-entity client of ours in the Mississauga area. This role will take ownership of full-cycle accounting for one operating company while contributing to consolidated financial reporting, month-end close, and ongoing process improvements. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both detail-oriented accounting work and exposure to broader financial analysis, cash flow management, and evolving processes in a growth-oriented business.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Cycle Accounting Manage day-to-day accounting for one operating company Oversee AP and AR processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Complete monthly close activities including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations Maintain and assess the integrity of the general ledger and supporting schedules Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements Month-End Close & Financial Reporting Play a key role in month-end close with a focus on accuracy and completeness Support financial statement preparation across multiple entities Support in strengthening the reporting processes and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement Cash Flow & Treasury Support Support weekly cash flow forecasting and ongoing monitoring of cash position Track and analyze cash flow, particularly as it relates to investments and capital allocation Contribute to decision-making in a business that is actively investing in expansion and vertical integration Inventory & Costing Manage and support monthly inventory accounting under a periodic system (FIFO, WIP) Calculate and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) Maintain and update bills of materials (BOMs) Analysis, Controls & Process Improvement Assist with financial analysis to support business decisions and operational effectiveness Support internal control development and compliance across entities Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy Collaborate closely with the Controller on special projects and evolving priorities
What We’re Looking For
Post secondary education in accounting, finance or related Working toward CPA designation is an asset Strong full-cycle accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment Hands-on experience with month-end close and financial reporting Exposure to inventory accounting and cost accounting an asset Comfortable working in a growing, evolving organization with shifting priorities Analytical mindset with an interest in cash flow, operational finance, and process improvement
