Job Description:
The AVP, Corporate Lending Operations at TD Securities is responsible for global oversight, supervision, and leadership of Corporate Lending. This role involves collaboration with business partners as the Corporate Lending business expands within TD Securities.
This position requires a comprehensive understanding of lending in a multinational financial institution and applies this experience to lead a team of lending operations professionals. The role includes supporting business partners by managing ongoing servicing of corporate lending clients across TD Securities' global network.
The AVP, Corporate Lending Operations manages the lending technology platform and identifies opportunities for automation and process improvement. The AVP is also accountable for all operating processes related to lending, ensuring effective execution and risk management throughout the lending lifecycle.
TD Securities emphasizes collaboration and a people-focused approach. The AVP is expected to maintain this culture within Corporate Lending Operations and to represent the team within TD Securities and the wider TD Bank group.
The AVP, Corporate Lending Operations, TD Securities, oversees a team of approximately 100 FTE and is responsible for:
- Executing and providing guidance on a multi-year roadmap for the modernization of Corporate Lending Operations, with a focus on improving efficiencies and reducing costs.
- Identifying and recruiting talent from other banks to develop a competitive lending operations team.
- Facilitating talent development within CLO and establishing a succession plan for the organization.
- Serving as the subject matter expert on Corporate Lending Operations across TDS.
- Managing the processes and systems that support Corporate Lending Operations, including the Deal Build Process, Deal Closing Process, and the LoanIQ and CAIRO credit management platforms. These processes and platforms interact with Corporate Banking partners to fund and deliver lending facilities.
- Supporting and settling financing activities and foreign currency lending requirements for TDS clients, while building team expertise in the CAIRO and LoanIQ applications. The current portfolio size is approximately $350 billion USD in committed loans.
- Establishing and managing business relationships with internal partners and clients to promote integration and execution of CLO transactions. CLO processes over 180,000 transactions annually, including new deals, amendments, and loan trading activities.
- Remaining informed of developments related to lending risk both internally and externally.
- Overseeing the risk associated with lending processes and leading remediation efforts for risks that remain unresolved.
- Collaborating with risk teams to develop and enhance risk and control inventories.
- Acting as the senior point of escalation for the unit and providing support for global businesses and clients.

- Comprehensive understanding of Lending Operations within the dealer network and awareness of TDS' operational landscape and key stakeholders.
- Experience in applying process automation and simplification to develop teams proficient in these areas.

- Collaborate with TDS groups to support automation and simplification initiatives for operational processes.
- Work with Technology to help develop the strategic lending platform, ensuring it meets risk management requirements and enhances operational capabilities.
Education & Experience
- University or college degree
- 10-15 years of experience in lending
- Demonstrated people management skills with the ability to lead a team toward achieving objectives
- Business-oriented with knowledge of operational workflows
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a larger team in a dynamic, time-sensitive setting
