Systems Administrator II
About the role
Purpose
The Systems Administrator II ensures the effective operation, security, and integration of all technology systems that support transportation, logistics, fleet management, dispatch, cold storage, and cross-border operations. This role provides day-to-day mentorship to the Systems Administrator and aligns IT infrastructure, applications, and operational technologies with business needs while maintaining reliable system performance, strong cybersecurity practices, and real-time connectivity across departments. The position combines strategic IT planning with hands-on technical support and operational system management.
Reports to
This position reports to the Vice President, Information Technology Responsibilities: Monitor, maintain, and optimize servers, networks, cloud services, and enterprise IT systems. Administer Microsoft 365 and Azure environments, including user access, licensing, and security policies. Maintain IT hardware, software, communication systems, and building access controls. Manage IT asset inventory and system documentation. Support fleet tracking systems, in-cab technologies, and operational communication tools. Ensure reliable connectivity and system performance across logistics operations. Implement cybersecurity controls and monitor system security. Maintain backup systems and disaster recovery processes. Manage user access and data protection protocols. Support internal software, databases, and reporting systems. Develop and maintain BI reports using tools such as Power BI, Dataverse, and Snowflake. Troubleshoot system issues and optimize performance. Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers. Plan and implement IT projects, upgrades, and improvements. Evaluate technologies and perform cost–benefit analysis for system enhancements. Provide technical support and user training across departments.

Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred Relevant certifications (Microsoft 365, Azure, PMP) considered an asset 4+ years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or IT management Experience supporting enterprise IT systems, cloud platforms, and networks Experience in transportation or logistics environments is an asset Windows and Linux administration Microsoft 365 and Azure Networking, VOIP, and cybersecurity BI tools (Power BI) and database platforms Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills
