FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

The Company:

Parkland C.L.A.S.S. is a family based organization, focused on increasing the quality of life for children and adults with developmental disabilities through individual choice, dignity and rights since 1963. We support over 400 Individuals in Central Alberta.

The Position:

Providing professional support to a child with disabilities in the family home and in the community, providing one-on-one support. Supporting the family and the child in working towards meeting annual goals for the child. Responsibilities include working on specific tasks, community outings and building rapport/relationships with the child, bathing, community outings - frequently, feeding, incontinence support, lifting <11 lbs, medication administration, personal hygiene, toileting support.

Wage: $18.60 - $19.95 per hour

The Requirements:

  • Completed Grade 12
  • Acceptable Police Information Check & Child Intervention Check
  • Experience with Autism, Non-Verbal Communication, Visual Strategies, ADHD, use of alternative communication device,
  • Driver's License, Must Provide Own Vehicle

Hours of work: Monday - Friday 3pm-8pm; School closure days & Spring & Summer & Winter break hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am-5:30pm
