As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting including preparing monthly journal entries, bank reconciliations, etc.
Prepare reporting and analysis to joint venture partner, lenders and Corporate Accounting group.
Prepare real estate tax, operating expense and other CAM (escalation billings) for tenants
Prepare statutory and audited financial statements for regulatory and lender reporting requirements
Work proactively with the tax team and external advisors to ensure compliance with US REIT requirements
Assist the Manager to ensure that the overall team monthly reporting is completed on time and accurately
Work proactively with the Operations team to identify issues regarding the monthly financial results, reporting packages to clients, tenant escalation / tax questions, and provide guidance on proper accounting policies
Participate in the monthly Operations / Accounting meetings on portfolio planning and the discussion and presentation of property results
Work with the Asset Managers and other interested parties to coordinate the creation and flow of financial data, budgets and reforecasts
Participate in the development, training, and implementation of new accounting policies, controls, and procedures
Act as a systems and process support for Accounting and Operations
Support and implement special project initiatives including documentation, process efficiencies, and implementation of system related improvements
Work with independent auditors and create work papers to be used in conjunction with audits.
Reviewing and analyzing tenant leases
Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned in order to maintain accurate and efficient workflow and reporting
Propose recommendations for process improvement of standardized reporting, policies and procedures to support efficiency and effectiveness of day to day activities
