Job Description At Vention, our Business Development Representatives are the first point of contact for future customers and play a critical role in driving growth. This is a career-launching opportunity for someone who is energized by prospecting, motivated by results, and excited to learn how great sales teams build pipeline in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

This role is ideal for someone who is curious, coachable, resilient, and eager to build a strong foundation in sales while gaining exposure to a fast-growing company at the forefront of manufacturing innovation, robotics, and industrial automation.

What You’ll Do

  • Generate new business opportunities through a mix of inbound lead follow-up and outbound prospecting
  • Execute high-volume prospecting across calls, emails and other channels, with the objective of converting targeted accounts into qualified pipeline opportunities
  • Research target accounts, identify key stakeholders, and connect with the right decision-makers
  • Qualify prospects by understanding their business context, pain points, priorities, and potential fit for Vention’s solutions
  • Clearly communicate Vention’s value proposition and create interest with prospective customers
  • Book qualified meetings for Account Executives by identifying and understanding customer needs, ensuring strong qualification and contributing to pipeline goal
  • Maintain accurate activity and prospect data in CRM and sales engagement tools
  • Develop strong knowledge of Vention’s solutions, customer use cases, and market landscape
  • Represent Vention professionally and create a strong first impression with every interaction
  • Consistently work toward and exceed monthly and quarterly activity, meeting, and pipeline targets
  • Continuously look for ways to improve performance, share feedback, and contribute to a strong team culture

What You Bring To The Table

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, sales development, lead generation, or a related customer-facing role
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A track record of high achievement, strong effort, or measurable results in previous roles, academics, athletics, or other high-performance environments
  • Natural curiosity and a genuine interest in learning about customers, industries, and technology
  • Coachability and openness to feedback
  • Professional presence and a strong sense of accountability
  • High energy, strong initiative, and a proactive approach to work
  • Resilience and comfort operating in a role that requires persistence, outreach, and frequent follow-up
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving, and collaborative environment
  • Nice to have
  • Experience in a B2B sales environment
  • Exposure to prospecting tools, CRM platforms, or sales engagement software such as Salesforce, Salesloft, Gong, or similar tools
  • Experience selling or supporting a technical, software, hardware, or industrial product
  • Interest in robotics, industrial automation, advanced manufacturing, or emerging technologies
  • Familiarity with outbound prospecting and account research best practices
