Job Overview:

The Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) provides therapeutic massage treatments to support clients’ physical health, pain management, and overall well-being. This role focuses on delivering safe, effective, and client-centered care while adhering to professional standards and organizational policies. The RMT works collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated treatment plans and optimal outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess clients’ physical conditions and symptoms through consultation and evaluation.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment and client goals.
  • Provide a range of massage therapy techniques including deep tissue, Swedish, sports, trigger point, myofascial release, and relaxation massages.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of treatments and progress notes in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Educate clients on self-care, post-treatment recommendations, and overall wellness practices.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers (e.g., physiotherapists, chiropractors, occupational therapists) to ensure integrated care.
  • Adhere to hygiene, safety, and infection control procedures.
  • Comply with all professional regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized Massage Therapy program.
  • Current registration and in good standing with the provincial regulatory body (e.g., CCHPBC in BC).
  • Valid liability insurance as required by regulatory standards.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
  • Ability to deliver a range of massage techniques and therapeutic modalities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide client-centered care.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and comply with confidentiality requirements.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, hygiene, and safety standards.
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams is an asset.
