TECHNICAL FIRE ALARM SPECIALIST

Location: Owen Sound, OntarioType: In the OfficeOur team is looking for a Technical Fire Alarm Specialist to join our Owen Sound, ON branch! In this role, the successful candidate will provide support for multiple brands of products to Canadian and International markets including the coordination and preparation of all documentation as required for new and existing products.

Responsibilities
- Maintain part numbers in ERP system.
- Be knowledgeable about major competitors and their prime products.
- Create technically written support documents for engineering product specifications, to be utilized in website promotion, social media, TIPs, Pitch Sheets and RFP submittals by engaging with the Marketing Team.
- Assist in onboarding and product training programs for new sales/service personnel
- Create PowerPoint Presentations for sales training as well as end-user product presentations.
- Monitor pricing levels on product lines, providing corrective action when they are less than the guidelines established by the product/marketing managers
- Research, prepare and recommend contract and distributor level pricing
- Research and prepare new product definitions
- Maintain company SharePoint site with technical product content
- Ensure product demos are in good working order and track and coordinate branch demo requests
- Support company trade shows and sales meetings with presentations, demos and technical support
- Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Graduate of Electronic or Electrical Technology/Fire Protection Technology or equivalent experience
- Technical background with superior written and oral skills
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team
- Proficient in Math and Excel skills
- Proficient in technical writing and documentation
- ERP experience considered a strong asset
- Knowledge of ULC standards and building codes
- Technical fire alarm expertise considered an asset
- Knowledge of the fire and life safety industry – sales, marketing, distribution
