Who You Are

  • Ultra Reliable. Since we work in teams, we need team members who are engaged and seeking to contribute in a positive manner. Are you willing to show up on time and work hard?
  • Responsible. You’re a self-starter with the ability to work independently as needed. Can you be trusted to act without needing strict supervision?
  • Ready to Grow. Fresh Prep is a rapidly growing company and there are many opportunities for advancement. Are you looking to learn and grow with us?
  • Can Take Direction. You can follow instructions and complete tasks in a timely manner.

What You'll Be Doing

At Fresh Prep, every day may be different! While we are currently in “growth mode”, things are becoming more and more streamlined. This means that your first day may not look like your third or your tenth, but each day you will be doing some of the following:

When you’re working in Packaging;

  • You will be working your shift in an area where the temperature is maintained between 6-8 degrees celsius.
  • The main activity in this department is the packaging of the ingredients produced by our Prep and Machining teams, per our different recipes specifications, into their appropriate labelled shipping bag, which is then sent to the Order Picking department.
  • You will be working at a specific recipe station with all the required ingredients supplied to select and combine the recipe ingredients into a labelled shipping bag, then placed onto a tray and delivery rack for further processing.
  • You will be required to work in a safe manner and to assist in maintaining a clean, healthy, food-safe production facility.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing, warehouse, or high-paced environment preferred.
  • Able to work in a high-paced warehouse environment with strict deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in a temperature controlled environment. The warehouse is kept at between 0 to 10 degrees Celsius.
  • Able to stand on your feet for 8 hour shifts.
  • Ability to lift objects up to 30 lbs (13 kgs).

What You Can Expect

  • $18.80/hour
  • Part-time schedule of: Thursday and Friday (3:00 PM - 11:00PM)
  • An inclusive, fun workplace filled with fantastic colleagues. We’re a certified B-Corporation and our team is passionate about making a positive difference (and also about food!)

Fresh Prep is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and prohibits discrimination of any kind. We value diversity at our company and at all job levels our goal is to be diverse, inclusive and representative of the communities we operate in. We endeavour to recruit, develop and retain the best talent from a diverse candidate pool and truly believe that diversity, equity and inclusion among our team members is vital to our success as a company. We trust that in applying for a role with us you value this as well!

Research shows that while men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other marginalized folks tend to only apply when they check every box. So if you think you have what it takes, but don’t necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch. We’d love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.

At Fresh Prep, we work with a variety of ingredients, including common allergens like peanuts, tree nuts, and dairy. Whether you're in one of our corporate functions or within the production facility, you may be exposed to these ingredients. If you have concerns—especially around allergens or meat—please let us know during the hiring process.
