Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments. The role involves managing database management systems (DBMS), ensuring performance, reliability, and security across on-premises and cloud-based platforms.
Key Responsibilities Design and implement physical database structures Administer and maintain DBMS environments across multiple platforms Perform database optimization, performance tuning, and capacity planning Manage database installations, migrations, and upgrades Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies Monitor and enforce database policies, rules, and standards Support database security, access control, and data integrity Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues Support integration and connectivity across systems Contribute to cloud migration initiatives and hybrid environments
Core Qualifications Database Administration Expertise 10+ years of experience in database administration, including design, implementation, and support Hands-on experience with DBMS installation, configuration, migration, and upgrades Strong expertise in performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes Experience with database technologies including Oracle (12c+), SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL Experience with RAC, GoldenGate, and Data Guard technologies Knowledge of database security, access management, and data integrity controls Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration Management)
Technical Proficiency Strong experience with PL/SQL and developing ETL procedures and packages Experience with query optimization techniques and information retrieval tools (TOAD, OEM, DB Artisan) Experience working in large, multi-tenant environments Experience with cloud and on-prem technologies (Azure, OCI) Experience across operating systems such as Linux, Unix, and Windows Familiarity with scripting/programming languages (Python, Shell) Knowledge of networking and communication protocols relevant to databases
Soft Skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to document designs, processes, and procedures effectively Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Proven ability to meet deadlines and work in a team environment
Nice-to-Have Skills Experience with distributed data systems Exposure to middleware technologies Knowledge of cybersecurity vulnerability remediation Understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks and deliverables Familiarity with ERP or case management systems Awareness of emerging IT trends and technologies
