About the role
Cabin Operations Ltd, a leader in environmental construction, is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our dynamic team.
This combined Estimating & Project Coordination role supports a wide range of environmental and recreation infrastructure projects, from trail and bridge builds to erosion control and wildfire mitigation.
Key Responsibilities & Competencies

Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets by interpreting drawings, specs, and project scopes.

Develop work plans and schedules, integrating estimating data into project timelines.

Source and obtain supplier/subcontractor quotes; negotiate pricing and prepare purchase orders or subcontracts.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, and field teams to ensure clear communication and smooth project delivery.

Maintain cost tracking, change order logs, and progress reporting for internal and client review.

Monitor project risks and identify cost-saving or process-improvement opportunities.
-
Ensure all work meets environmental, safety, and quality standards, following best management practices (BMPs).

Apply technical understanding of environmental restoration, civil construction, and outdoor recreation projects (e.g., trail construction, creek diversions, planting, erosion control).

Use Microsoft Office, estimating/project management software, and cloud-based tools effectively (Bluebeam experience an asset).
Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of related experience in estimating, project coordination, or project management.

Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Familiarity with project management software and Bluebeam considered an asset.

Formal technical or project management training preferred.
Compensation
Wage: $65,000 – $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
