The Opportunity
The City of Selkirk is currently in search of a Kin Centre Attendant to join our team. Under the direction of the Manager of Parks and Recreation Facilities, the Kin Centre Attendant is responsible for performing general labour and custodial duties related to the operation and maintenance of the Kin Centre and outdoor ice
Job Duties
- Labour and Custodial

Responsible for labour and custodial duties within the Kin Centre

Maintain outdoor ice
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance
-
Perform inspections, routine checks, minor servicing, cleaning and basic maintenance of any equipment they are operating.

Inform the Manager of any required maintenance, safety, custodial problems, or public incidents.
- Perform other related duties as may be assigned
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements

Grade 10 Education
-
Clear Current Child Abuse Registry Check
-
Considerable skill in the operation of designated equipment and hand tools
-
Understanding of basic janitorial tasks and cleaning compounds
-
Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. This includes the ability to understand written and verbal instructions
-
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
-
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
-
Knowldege and understanding of the occupational hazards, safety precautions, regulations and procedures that are applicable to the area of work
-
Demonstrated competence in safe work practices
-
Willingness and ability to work shift work, callouts and overtime as required
-
Must be able to work in a parks and recreation facility environment and outdoors, which includes extreme weather conditions
-
Must be physically able to perform all the laboring aspects or other duties associated with the position assigned
Desired Qualifications shall include:
- Valid Class 5 or G Driver’s License
Comments
This is a Casual Non-Union position ranging from October 2025 to February 2026, working various hours up to 30 hours a week. This position is excluded from the Collective Agreement and is open to all applicants. Applications will be accepted until November 07, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.
