Reports to: Manager, Perioperative and Obstetrics Services

Rate of Pay: $41.15 to $58.98 per hour

We need a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services - PACU team! You want to be part of our PACU because we're fast-paced, team-oriented, and focused on exceptional patient care. As a Registered Nurse you are eligible for student loan forgiveness as CGMH is considered a rural hospital Join HOOPP a defined benefit contribution pension plan Time away from work matters. This position would earn 6% vacation in lieu Your health and wellness are important. We offer 14% in lieu of benefits (or 10% with HOOP) At this time this opportunity is scheduled for 8-hour shifts
As The Successful Applicant, You Will Do The Following
Conduct preoperative assessments and prepare patients for surgery. Educate patients on the surgical process, recovery expectations, and postoperative care. Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia in the PACU. Manage vital signs, oxygenation, pain control, and patient comfort. Identify and respond to postoperative complications as needed. Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia teams to support safe patient recovery. Assess patient readiness for discharge, including evaluating vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition. Provide discharge teaching on wound care, medications, follow-up care, and signs of potential complications. Support and educate patients and families throughout the surgical journey. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to maintain patient safety and high standards of care.
What You’ll Bring
Required
Current Certificate of Registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario Minimum of two year of recent critical care nursing experience Current BCLS and ACLS certification PACU Certificate (or to obtain within 6 months of hire) Critical Care or Emergency Department Certification
Preferred
Knowledge of current NAPAN standards

Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located in Collingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that serves more than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 Million annual visitors to the communities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains.
