About The Role We are looking for a Trading Analyst, East to join our East Trading Desk on a full-time basis . This position is core to the Trading desk’s ability to deliver trading results. The role will require a high degree of quantitative analytic skills to identify trading opportunities within the PJM, ISO_NE, NYISO, MISO and Ontario markets.

This position is based out of our Downtown Calgary Head Office , on a full-time basis . Relocation assistance may be considered for the right candidate.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

• Delivering fundamental analysis of the eastern markets
• Collaborate with traders on trade ideas and the identification of growth opportunities within the eastern power markets
• Conduct valuation on structured transactions in the power and gas markets
• Build pricing models to evaluate risk on complex structured products, and provide ideas on hedging solutions
• Develop analytical tools to help traders conduct business
• Assist in daily management and administration of structured positions
• Work with cross functional teams (Risk, Settlement and Credit groups) on an ad-hoc basis

About You To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following must-have qualifications and experience:

• Strong academic track record in a relevant field (Business, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, or Physics) or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to analyze large datasets and understand statistical tests
• Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Python, SQL and VBA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to make effective decisions under pressure
• Self-motivated, curious individual who is keen to tackle complex open-ended problems
