span class="normaltextrun"> Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters and Bermuda-Nova Scotia Regional Councils on a Permanent Full-time basis (35 hours per week).
The Regional Councils, part of the wider United Church of Canada, are decision-making bodies responsible to serve and support Communities of Faith, and its leadership within its bounds and provide necessary oversight. Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters Regional Council, Bermuda-Nova Scotia Regional Council and First Dawn Eastern Edge Regional Council represent diverse contexts of urban centres and rural communities. The three Regions are comprised of the following areas, Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters (Gaspé Quebec, NB, PEI), Bermuda-Nova Scotia (NS and Bermuda) and First Dawn Eastern Edge (NL). The Regions are committed to supporting the United Church’s work of reconciliation and its desire to be intercultural.
The Communications and Office Administrator Position oversees the daily communication in the Regional Councils, and supports the office administration work of the Region. They provide administrative support for the Regional Minister for Fundy St. Lawrence Dawning Waters and Bermuda-Nova Scotia Regional Councils, and shared administrative support for Minister for Justice, Mission, and Outreach and the Minster for Youth and Young Adults.
Main Responsibilities:
The current main responsibilities include:

Communication: Liaise with website host for all issues and concerns; create and manage forms, pages and posts for the website, upload content and update calendar on website; update Facebook pager, maintain directory, organize weekly announcements, circulate regional newsletters and oversee communication through MailChimp.

Administrative Support: Coordinate booking for boardroom and other meeting requirements, assist Office Manager for financial matters such as forwarding requests for funding and paying bills and updating Incorporated Ministries contact files and circulate annual letters.

Support to the Regional Ministers and Regional Council Meetings: Provide admin support to Regional Ministers in terms of communication, meeting preparation, event registration and update database for pastoral charge For Regional Council Meetings, compile materials, biographies, reports, nametags and other resources.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education, in Business Administration or equivalent and 2-3 years of experience in an administrative role.
- Computer skills in the use of various software applications - Office 365, Dynamics, Adobe, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, Zoom, Mailchimp, Facebook and other social media and online platforms; Knowledge of website design, is an asset;
- Organization, time management, planning and problem-solving skills, together with the flexibility to switch easily from one task to another to effectively juggle multiple tasks at the same time as situations or priorities change;
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment with a commitment to team approach and collaboration with colleagues;
- Ability to work with the public, to show diplomacy, confidentiality and trust;
- An understanding of The United Church of Canada priorities, programs and structure are assets and.
- Alignment with the Calls and Vision of The United Church of Canada – respect, integrity, passion and diversity.
Working Conditions
This position works from the Regional Council Office located at Sackville, New Brunswick. There is some flexibility for some work to be done off-site, when needed. Sitting and viewing a computer screen for long periods, keyboarding/using assistive devices or software, intermittent physical activity including sitting, standing and being on the phone for long periods of time will be required. Occasional attendance at evening and weekend meetings will be required.

Compensation
The target hiring range for this position is $42,587 to $48,537 with the ability to progress to a maximum of $56,782. This is based on category 2 on our salary range. Placement on the salary range will be based on factors such as market condition, internal equity, candidate experience skills and qualifications relevant to the role. Pension and group benefit plans coverage and annual vacation round out this compensation package.
