Job Description
**Position:**Associate Professor
**Status:**Temporary Part-Time
**Department:**Diagnostic Cytology
**Site:**The Michener Institute
Salary:$48.67 - $51.63 per hour
**Hours:**up to 15 hours per week
**Vacancies:**1 (Replacement)

Position Summary:

Providing academic leadership, fostering an effective learning environment and upholding all professional, provincial and national standards
-
Utilizing innovative teaching techniques to facilitate the learning process (theory and practice) primarily in Diagnostic Cytology although other subjects may be required based on departmental need
-
Evaluating student progress and achievement, while providing student advisement and remedial assistance
-
Liaising with other faculty and staff at the Michener Institute and personnel at affiliated clinical sites
-
Participating in internal committees
Qualifications
-
MLT with a minimum of six years' experience with in-depth expertise in diagnostic cytology
-
Capable of teaching introductory and advanced classes and labs in cytotechnology
-
Bachelors of Science in related field
-
Experience working/teaching in field within last 12 months preferred
-
Good standing with relevant professional association(s); CSMLS and CMLTO
-
Licensure with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologist of Ontario (CMLTO)
-
Skill in various teaching approaches and innovations including online/hybrid delivery modes
-
Strong organizational and leadership skills
-
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Familiarity with MS Office, presentation and curriculum design software
-
Satisfactory Canadian Police Clearance documents required upon hire
