High Prairie School Division

is inviting applicants for:

Wellness Coach -Slave Lake

August 25, 2025 - February 27, 2026

This is a temporary position with the potential to become permanent.

High Prairie School Division, located in north-central Alberta, provides comprehensive educational programs and services to approximately 3200 students, kindergarten through to Grade 12. Its educational enterprise is carried out in 13 schools located in the communities of Falher, Donnelly, High Prairie, Joussard, Kinuso and Slave Lake. Approximately 550 full and part-time employees, including educational assistants, secretaries, librarians, janitors, maintenance personnel, bus drivers, mechanics, education specialists and Learning Support Centre administrators and personnel, directly supplement the endeavours of over 200 school-based teachers and administrators. Seven trustees elected by parents and taxpayers of the Division’s four subdivisions provide governance and overall direction.

Duties and Responsibilities

Including, but not limited to:

  • Support the implementation of Administrative Procedure 241 – Healthy School Communities

  • Promote overall health and wellness for students

  • Support the development of a sustainable culture of positive well-being

  • Implement universal programming that promotes wellness

  • Assist students in identifying steps to achieve health and wellness related goals

  • Provide individual and group support sessions

  • Provide crisis counselling when necessary

  • Work in collaboration with other HPSD student services team members to support student success

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Diploma in related field is required.

  • Post-secondary Degree in Psychology or Social Work, or related field is preferred.

  • 1-3 years’ experience working in the related field is preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License as travel is required
