Responsibilities Directly accountable to the Manager, Corporate Education, the Training and Development Facilitator creates engaging, accessible, and effective educational opportunities for St.Amant staff, volunteers, and community members. The Training and Development Facilitator is responsible to:

  • Facilitate workshops and learning opportunities
  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content
  • Work with subject matter experts and identify target audience's training needs
  • State instructional end goals and create content that matches them
  • Apply instructional and accessible design theories, practice and methods
  • Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc.) for in-person or online platform delivery
  • Develop assessment instruments based on applicable criteria

The Training and Development Facilitator takes an active role in and personal responsibility for continuous learning to promote knowledge and best practices. They are familiar with policies, issues, trends, and practices in the field, as well as with needs, gaps, or opportunities which may improve the lives of persons with disabilities, or which promote social justice, equity, or accessibility.

Qualifications Educational :

  • Post-secondary training in a related field, such as education, organizational development, social sciences, or equivalent combination of education/work experience
  • Adult Education Certificate or equivalent education is a definite asset
  • Education related to online learning platforms or instructional design is an asset

Professional

  • Minimum of three years’ recent related experience in the area of adult education and organizational development, including experience in program planning and curriculum design and development
  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency group facilitation
  • Knowledge of current adult-learning concepts, training techniques, and program planning and implementation
  • Skill in the utilization of organizational management principles, methods, and techniques
  • Strong working proficiency in course authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, etc. and at least one Learning Management System
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Bilingual in French and English is an asset

Duties And Responsibilities Program/Service Support : Consistent with the Mission, Philosophy and Policies of St.Amant and the Principle Functions and Objectives of Corporate Education, the Training and Development Facilitator seeks innovative ways to deliver training to employees. Quality services are evident when professional communication, timeliness, accuracy, ethical awareness/sensitivity, confidentiality are consistently demonstrated as required by legislation and program/service standards.

Duties Include

  • Seeks innovative ways to deliver training to employees such as e-learning, webinars, training videos, electronic books, etc.
  • Develops/revises/maintains presentation and training materials (including design, layout, and content development of in-person and electronic learning opportunities)
  • Facilitates internal Corporate workshops and training opportunities (in-person and remotely)
  • Performs basic administrative functions related to the Learning Management System
  • Completes administrative tasks related to the delivery of workshops as assigned
  • Sets up equipment and supplies for workshops as assigned
  • Provides resource/support for managers/leaders, and other employees that facilitate groups, train employees and/or make presentations as part of their responsibilities
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts in the development of materials
  • Regularly reviews and updates training materials as required to ensure continued relevance/accuracy
  • Consults on initiatives led by others regarding training methodology, design, and rollout
  • Ensures managers/leaders are informed of initiatives available to them and their employees
  • Ensures training and educational material meets corporate goals and objectives, and legislative requirements
  • Provides relevant information, articles, websites, e-books, and references to all staff according to needs
  • Researches and develops information required for projects and initiatives
  • Attends courses and seminars to promote and encourage staff development
