About the Role
We are seeking a strategic, technically proficient, and people-oriented Manager of Microsoft 365 & Entra Services to lead our Infrastructure Engineering team. This individual will oversee the design, implementation, and lifecycle management of Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD), Microsoft 365 services, and Active Directory infrastructure. The successful candidate will bring deep domain expertise, strong leadership capabilities, and a commitment to excellence in planning, execution, and governance.
This is a critical leadership role focused on engineering, architecture, and compliance—not day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead a team of skilled engineers specializing in Microsoft Entra, M365, and Active Directory technologies.
- Foster a high-performance team culture focused on innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and career development support to team members.
Engineering Strategy & Architecture
- Own the technical roadmap for Microsoft Entra ID, M365 services (SharePoint, Teams, etc.), and Active Directory.
- Define architecture standards and best practices aligned with enterprise security and compliance goals.
- Collaborate with Security, Architecture, and Cloud Engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient identity and collaboration platforms.
Planning & Governance
- Develop and manage multi-year strategic plans for technology upgrades, cloud migrations, and service enhancements.
- Participate in IT planning activities and align engineering initiatives with organizational goals.
- Plan and manage the engineering budget, including hardware/software investments and resource allocation.
Audit & Compliance
- Ensure that systems and practices meet internal policies and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, OSFI, ISO 27001).
- Lead or support technical aspects of audit responses, control documentation, and remediation plans.
- Collaborate closely with Risk, Audit, and Security teams to maintain strong governance posture.
Project Oversight
- Provide oversight and technical leadership for engineering components of infrastructure and security projects.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are aligned to project timelines, budgets, and business objectives.
- Track risks and dependencies and proactively address obstacles to maintain project momentum.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, with a focus on Microsoft enterprise platforms.
- 3+ years in a leadership or management role within a complex IT environment.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365 services, and Active Directory architecture.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage across competing priorities.
- Experience with budget management and strategic technology planning.
- Familiarity with audit frameworks and compliance requirements in the financial sector.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., SC-300, MS-102, AZ-104).
- ITIL, TOGAF, or similar certifications.
- Experience in a regulated financial institution strongly preferred.
Salary :
$94,600.00 - $176,000.00

Salaried
The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.
Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
