The Talent Acquisition team acts as strategic partners to facilitate the full cycle of recruitment. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will analyze industry trends and benchmarks to develop leading edge recruitment strategies to attract high caliber candidates. As a brand ambassador, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will educate candidates about Queensway Carleton Hospital, our culture, and the career opportunities available, ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the entire recruitment process.

RESPONSBILITIES

  • Leads, maintains, and records all aspects of the recruitment process, working closely with hiring managers to support units in their hiring needs such as position management, adhering to process standards, industry best practice, applicable collective agreements, and legislative regulations.
  • Prioritize positive client experience through effective and efficient communication and service delivery through the entirety of the recruitment cycle.
  • Consult with leaders on workforce planning initiatives including proactive methodologies and approaches to screen and fill difficult to hire positions and future vacancies in the Hospital environment.
  • Review and analyze the orientation and on-boarding program to ensure it meets best practices. Provides recommendations based on industry trends and in alignment with organization’s continuous performance improvement culture.
  • Participate in and act as Hospital Representative at Career Fairs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or in related discipline.
  • Three (3) years in Recruitment in a unionized environment or in lieu of formal education, five (5) years in Human Resources in a unionized environment

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge of Collective Agreements, the Employee Standard Act, Human Rights Code, and Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities Act
  • Knowledge of sourcing strategies and techniques
  • Strong presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills
  • Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders

PREFERRED

  • Certified Human Resources Professional Designation (CHRP)

  • Experience with ATS and HRIS software

  • Experience developing interview and selection tools and processes
