Rabbit Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, produced over 200 million pounds of uranium concentrate from 1975 through 2016 and is currently in a safe state of care and maintenance. The uranium mined and milled at Rabbit Lake has been used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
The Role
As the instrumentation technologist at Rabbit Lake, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing all measurement and control systems. You will also be responsible for a number of different computing systems that are critical to mill operations.
In this role, you will:

Perform predictive and preventative maintenance checks on a regular basis to ensure safe and reliable production.
-
Install and maintain all measurement and control systems including DCS/PLC, flowmeters, pH transmitters, density gauges, pressure transmitters, level transmitters and online analyzers.

Troubleshoot equipment failures and document repairs.
-
Maintain leaky feeder/telephone/radio communications.
Required:
-
Grade 12 diploma or equivalent
-
Interprovincial red seal or Instrumentation Engineering Technology Diploma
-
Minimum three to five years of directly related work experience in an industrial or mine environment
-
Ability to work in a team environment
-
Work a rotation schedule and commute to site by aircraft
-
In this role you will be expected to maintain ongoing participation with the site Emergency Response and Mine Rescue Team (ERT/MRT). As a member of the team, you will receive emergency response and mine rescue training to support our ability to safely address emergencies that might arise on site. This will include both surface and underground fire and rescue situations. You will be required to participate in first aid, fire and other emergency response exercises and scenarios. Participation on the ERT/MRT team will be subject to successful completion of medical testing.
