About the role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Tasks: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems. Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit. Discuss work with supervisor. Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions. Inspect motor in operation. Review work orders . Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems. Repair or replace mechanical units or components. Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs . Perform scheduled maintenance service. Test and adjust units to specifications. Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements. Complete reports to record problems and work performed. Provide customer service. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Hand-eye co-ordination. Attention to detail. Manual dexterity. Personal suitability: Reliability. Team player. Punctuality. Employment terms options: Early morning. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Employment terms options: Morning. On call. Day. Weekend.
