Job Description What's the opportunity? RBC's Agentic AI Enablement team is a specialized engineering force that embeds directly into strategic use cases, delivers production-grade agentic systems, and builds institutional muscle for agentic AI at scale. We need a Delivery Lead to run the execution engine across concurrent delivery squads, keeping engineers focused, unblocked, and shipping. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Agentic AI Enablement, the Delivery Lead owns delivery operations across the team's active engagement portfolio. You'll lead a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs), operationalize engineering-informed timelines into sprint plans, and ensure squads deliver against commitments while maintaining the pace and quality expected of a high-intensity delivery organization. This is not a traditional program delivery role. You're running a delivery practice inside a pod-based engineering organization where squads form, deliver, and dissolve per engagement. You need to be comfortable with ambiguity, technically fluent enough to spot risks early, and operationally excellent enough to keep multiple concurrent engagements on track simultaneously. Your responsibilities include: Delivery Operations & Execution Own delivery execution across all active Enablement squads, ensuring teams deliver against committed timelines and quality standards Establish and maintain delivery cadence, standards, templates, and tooling that scale with the team Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices through retrospectives, metrics analysis, and process iteration Ensure delivery traceability from intake through close for audit and reporting purposes TPM Team Leadership Directly manage the TPM team; hire, coach, and develop delivery professionals who thrive in technically complex, fast-paced environments Set expectations for JIRA hygiene, sprint analytics, dependency tracking, and delivery reporting standards Allocate TPM coverage across squads based on engagement intensity (dedicated for complex engagements, shared for lighter ones) Build a cohesive delivery practice with shared standards while allowing squad-level adaptation Cross-Squad Coordination & Dependency Management Serve as the escalation point for cross-squad dependencies, conflicts, and resource contention Coordinate with Principal Engineers when technical risks materialize and delivery plans require adjustment Coordinate with Engagement Product Managers (EPMs) on scope change impacts to delivery plans Manage logistics when Enablement engineers are lent to external programs (e.g., ADT), maintaining reporting lines and delivery rhythm Facilitate cross-pod engineer allocation for complex engagements in partnership with the Portfolio & Strategy Lead Delivery Health & Reporting Maintain portfolio-level delivery dashboards that aggregate squad-level metrics for leadership visibility Provide delivery health assessments that inform capacity and intake decisions (owned by Portfolio & Strategy Lead) Flag systemic delivery risks, capacity constraints, and process gaps before they impact commitments Own delivery metrics: velocity trends, burndown, cycle time, delivery predictability, blocker resolution time Risk & Escalation Serve as the primary escalation point for delivery risks surfaced by TPMs Drive timely resolution of blockers that span squads, teams, or organizational boundaries (security, compliance, platform) Partner with the Portfolio & Strategy Lead on resourcing trade-offs when delivery constraints arise You're our ideal candidate if you have: Must Have: 7+ years delivering technology solutions in software engineering, AI/ML, platform, or cloud-native environments 3+ years leading delivery teams (TPMs, Scrum Masters, or delivery managers) in complex, multi-squad environments Experience running delivery operations across multiple concurrent workstreams simultaneously Deep hands-on proficiency with delivery tooling (JIRA, dashboards, sprint analytics, automation) Strong understanding of agile delivery (Scrum, Kanban, hybrid) with the judgment to adapt frameworks to context rather than enforce dogma Proven ability to operate in technically complex domains without needing to be the engineer in the room Experience in regulated industries (banking/financial services preferred) with comfort navigating governance and compliance Strong instinct for risk identification and escalation management Nice to Have: Background in professional services, consulting delivery, or managed services models where squads form and dissolve per engagement Experience with AI/ML or agentic AI solution delivery PMP, SAFe, or Scrum Master certifications Experience building delivery practices from scratch in a new or rapidly scaling team Familiarity with pod-based engineering organizations and variable squad sizing models What's in it for you?
