Principal - Part Time Schools

##Position Summary

The Principal serves as the educational and spiritual leader of the Islamic school, responsible for guiding the academic, moral, and spiritual development of students in alignment with the school’s mission and Islamic values. The Principal oversees staff, curriculum, operations, and community relations to foster a nurturing, safe, and engaging learning environment.

##Key Responsibilities

###1.Leadershi****p & Vision

  • Provide strong Islamic and educational leadership rooted in Qur’an, Sunnah, and professional best practices.
  • Develop and implement a shared vision for the school, ensuring alignment with Islamic values and the Ontario curriculum (or relevant local standards).
  • Inspire staff and students to achieve excellence academically, socially, and spiritually.

###**2.**Curriculum & Instruction

  • Oversee curriculum development to integrate both secular and Islamic studies.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, assessment, and learning outcomes.
  • Promote innovative instructional strategies and Islamic pedagogy.

###**3.**Staff Management

  • Recruit, mentor, and evaluate teachers and staff.
  • Provide ongoing professional development with emphasis on Islamic character, pedagogy, and collaboration.
  • Create a positive, respectful, and cooperative work environment.

###**4.**Student Development

  • Ensure holistic student growth: academic achievement, Islamic character (akhlaq), leadership, and community service.
  • Promote discipline policies rooted in Islamic principles of fairness, compassion, and accountability.
  • Support extracurricular programs (Qur’an competitions, sports, clubs, Islamic events).

###**5.**Community & Parent Relations

  • Build strong relationships with parents, guardians, and the wider Muslim community.
  • Communicate regularly with families about student progress, school initiatives, and community engagement opportunities.
  • Foster partnerships with Islamic organizations, mosques, and educational institutions.

###**6.**School Operations

  • Oversee daily school operations, budgeting, scheduling, and compliance with educational regulations.
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with the school board or governing body to set goals, policies, and priorities.

##Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field (required).
  • Valid teaching and/or administrative certification (as per provincial/state requirements).
  • Knowledge of the Ontario curriculum (or applicable local curriculum).
  • Strong Islamic knowledge and commitment to practicing and promoting Islamic values.
  • Experience in school leadership, administration, or teaching (minimum 5 years preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance academic excellence with Islamic tarbiyah (character development).
