Reporting to the Area Superintendent, the School Psychologist works collaboratively with the Student Services and Wellness support team, school principal, staff, parents/guardians, clinicians and outside agencies. Supports Nursery to Grade 12 students including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, consultation and recommendations.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in School Psychology

Valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate (or eligibility for) Successful completion of formal training in psycho-educational assessments Strong clinical skills in child and adolescent development, cognitive processes, mental health, learning and behaviour disorders Experience working with students with a broad range of exceptional needs Commitment to working with Indigenous and First Nation communities using culturally affirming practices Training in Threat Assessment (VTRA), ASIST, Trauma-Informed Practices, and Cultural Safety is an asset Valid Manitoba Driver's license

Duties And Responsibilities

Conduct and interpret psychoeducational assessments related to learning, social-emotional and/or behavioural challenges Work collaboratively with school support teams and parents/guardians Participate in School Support Team meetings Prepare and submit written reports Liaise with outside agencies Provide professional learning for school staff and parents Support school communities related to threat assessment, crisis response and trauma-informed care
