We are seeking a Civil CAD/BIM Technician to join our team.
Our team regularly collaborates on projects across North America. The successful candidate should be comfortable working and collaborating on a variety of different projects with team members across North America.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated team player that is excited about taking on a new challenge. While the successful candidate will be based in our Winnipeg, MB office, we do offer flexible hybrid work from home/office arrangements.
Your Responsibilities as a Civil technologist:
Using your knowledge of drafting practices and CAD platforms you will work closely with other CAD Technician / Technologists, engineers, and senior designers to complete the following tasks:
- Prepare engineering drawings for municipal, commercial, and industrial projects using AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.
- Ensure Revit, CAD Standards, Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures are followed during drawing planning and production.
- Understand and adhere to Stantec and client standards.
- Coordinate project drawings with project managers, technical staff, and others.
- Prepare presentation graphics and report figures.
- Prepare plan, profile, grading, surface design for water, storm, wastewater piping, and roadways design from concept to final, ensuring reviewer comments received are corrected and addressed.
- Complete CAD project reviews and collaborate with other technical disciplines.
- Ensure that the project needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
Capabilities and Credentials
- Effective communication/collaborative skills for working with single or multi-discipline projects, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
- Highly organized, have significant attention to detail, able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
- Able to consistently produce high quality 2D and 3D drawings.
- Proficient with Microsoft (MS) Office365 and Adobe Acrobat Pro or Bluebeam REVU, and Excel.
- Experience in the following is considered an asset: - Topography and as-built surveys
- Construction Supervision
- Civil 3D
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)/BIM 360 and ProjectWise.
- Autodesk Recap
- AutoTurn or Vehicle tracking
- Microsoft Teams
Education and Experience
- Certificate or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Minimum 1 – 3 years of experience. Previous co-op/intern experience and a comprehensive knowledge of Civil 3D would be considered an asset.
- Experience and familiarity with municipal, urban development and water resources disciplines and/or an education background in these areas.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
