You will encounter in the course of your duties numerous situations which cannot be covered by Standing Orders, site specific security operations procedures which outline the duties and contain property and facility information
Position Details:
**Position:**Full-Time Rapid Response Guard
**Site:**City of Brampton - 150 Central Park Drive, Brampton, ON L6V0A3
**Hours:**Continental Nights (1900-0700)
Payrate:$19.10/ an hour
**Averaging Agreement:**Overtime is Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours
**Posting Date:**March 16, 2026
**Internal Closing Date:**March 20, 2026
**External Closing Date:**March 31, 2026
City of Brampton’s Rapid Response will provide a uniform security presence at the various City of Brampton locations which includes; Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre and other Downtown Brampton facilities, properties, assets and events.
- Responding to and reporting all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity and hazardous situations
- Unlocking and locking doors and offices
- Providing access control
- Deterring and enforcing prohibited acts such as loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding and cycling
- Ensuring the buildings are secured after hours
- Completing patrols with the use of an electronic guard tour
Job Duties
- Ability to work alone or in a team
- Enthusiastically conducts proactive patrols, and be able to address policy breeches, and note facility concerns.
- Ability to write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day to day activities
- Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner as not to create a panic amongst the public
- Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors and other persons
- Ability to de-escalate a crisis, provide support and liaise with emergency personnel including; police, fire and paramedic resources
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
- Logging in/out of Key, Radio and pager audits
- Ability to provide first aid and medical response when required to any person(s)
- Respond to all types of occurrences
Job Requirements:
- Minimum Two (2) year Security Guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment would be an asset.
- Dispatch and Mobile experience is asset
- Must possess a valid Security License for the Province of Ontario
- Must possess a current First Aid/CPR certification
- Must have a Valid Ontario G Class Driver's License
- Must be Able to Provide 3 year Clean Driver's Abstract
- Excellent verbal and written English communications skills
- Must participate in professional development and on-site leveling system requirements
- Must complete all required site training within 30 day of on-site hire date
- Additional job-related task and duties as assigned
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
