Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager of Campus Store Operations, the incumbent is responsible for the efficient and responsive operation of the Retail Services’ Shipping and Receiving Area. This includes receiving, recording, price data input, shelving of incoming merchandise, shipping of web and internal/external customer orders, the return of merchandise to suppliers, and the daily maintenance of all department files and records. In addition, the incumbent co-operates with other staff within the Operation, with respect to the orderly and expeditious flow of goods to and their placement on, the sales floor.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Shipping:
- Ensures that only merchandise in excellent condition is returned for credit to suppliers; packs with extreme care so that no damage results.
- Prepares and packages the delivery of internal and external College departmental orders and web-based orders. Will deliver orders to internal departments at the Woodroffe campus.
- Prepares and packages the returns of merchandise to vendors
Receiving:
- Receives incoming shipments, checks the number of cartons, and verifies their condition. If all is in order, will sign for receipt of goods.
- Carefully checks the merchandise to make sure that the goods are exactly as ordered.
- Records various activities on the appropriate forms
- Passes relevant documents to the Operation’s Accounts Payable Clerk for further processing.
- Enters appropriate information into the Operation’s Inventory Management System for pricing. Ensures that appropriate discounts, as determined by the Operation’s buyers, are applied.
- Utilizes internal and external online data systems to verify and trace shipments, shipping & custom brokerage charges, etc.
Retail Floor:
- Assists with merchandising & restocking when required
- Assists retail team at the start of the term with online orders and customer service support.
Others Duties as required.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a bookstore/publisher shipping and receiving environment.
Anticipated Schedule:
Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM
4 Month Contract with possibility for extension
