As a Site Maintenance Employee, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the continued safety of our Fort St. John Sawmill while it is not operational. Your responsibilities include conducting safety checks, monitoring fire suppression systems, and maintaining detailed logs. Join our team and contribute to a safe work environment!
The life of a Site Maintenance includes:
- Conduct regular checks throughout the plant operation.
- Watch for unauthorized visitors, fire hazards, and other irregularities.
- Record activities in the daily log and ensure any issues are reported promptly.
- Inspect and ensure the functionality of fire suppression systems and equipment.
- Perform fire watch duties for maintenance personnel working after hours.
- Coordinate tasks with fellow Site Maintenance employees.
- Communicate irregularities to designated personnel.
- Maintain dry valve report forms in valve houses.
- Record visitor data and address trespassing incidents.
- Conduct fire extinguisher checks
For this role, come equipped with:
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to follow procedures and protocols.
- Prior sawmill or safety experience preferred.
- Ability to work a schedule of 4 x 12-hour shifts, with 4 days off. Some positions rotate between day and night shifts, while there may be positions which only work the night shift.

The hourly rate for this position is: $35.64
