About the role
Sol-R designs and manufactures premium window covering systems for the commercial and residential markets. We’re expanding beyond traditional products into innovative mechanical and robotic solutions that redefine how people interact with their living and working environments.
We’re looking for a Mechanical Product Development Engineer who enjoys creating physical products from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the President to transform ideas into working prototypes, rapidly iterating designs until they’re ready for manufacturing.
What you’ll do
- Design mechanical components and assemblies in Fusion 360.
- Develop functional prototypes using Bambu Lab and Formlabs 3D printers.
- Assemble, evaluate and refine prototypes through multiple design iterations.
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing methods for production.
- Prepare designs for manufacturing and work with suppliers to bring products into production.
- Document designs and maintain CAD files and engineering documentation.
- Contribute to the development of next-generation window covering systems and robotic products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software (Fusion 360 preferred).
- Experience designing mechanical parts for manufacturing.
- Hands-on experience with FDM and resin 3D printing.
- Comfortable assembling, testing and troubleshooting mechanical prototypes.
- Curious, resourceful and motivated to build new products rather than simply maintain existing ones.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-moving product development environment.
