About the role
Supporting a variety of communication activities in a professional and timely manner, the Coordinator, Communications is responsible for organizing and managing CPSA’s monthly newsletter, daily media clippings, community relations initiatives and other communications requirements such as project management, writing and editing, design, presentation support and commendations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Communications department:
- Oversee coordination/planning, promotional materials and presentations, meeting logistics, travel arrangements and day-of execution for CPSA speaking engagements and other community relations activities.
- Manage CPSA's monthly e-newsletter, including collecting external submissions, writing/editing internal submissions as required, layout/design, and distribution.
- Manage CPSA’s commendations intake and process.
- Daily review, distribution and tracking of all CPSA-related media clippings.
- Support Communications Advisors with various communications-related projects and activities.
- Redirect inquiries and coordinate and/or draft responses for CPSA’s general email address.

Provide strategic communications support to the Privacy portfolio, including research, partner consultation, project coordination, writing/editing articles, promotional/educational material, and website and intranet content.

In support of continuous quality improvement, review and make recommendations to enhance CPSA’s communication practices.

Participation on internal and external workings groups and committees as required.

Other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, with a specialization in communications, marketing or a related field
- 1 year of related experience

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Solid understanding of Canadian Press style writing and editing.
- Strong writing, editing and project management skills.
- Sound knowledge of graphic design and web tools.
SALARY
The annual salary for this position is $69,342 and includes a comprehensive benefits package and pension plan.

During the 90-day probationary period, the successful candidate will be required to work from CPSA's downtown Edmonton office. At the conclusion of a successful probationary period, a hybrid work arrangement may be considered.
