We operate a modern, high-precision facility in Markham, Ontario, equipped with advanced multi-axis CNC technology. We are currently seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer/Setup Machinist to manage complex, tight-tolerance production on our advanced machining centers.
The Role: This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for an experienced professional capable of programming, setting up, and operating highly advanced multi-axis equipment with minimal supervision. You will be responsible for new product launches and high-precision production runs that demand exact adherence to technical specifications. Technical Requirements (Mandatory) Candidates must possess direct, hands-on experience with the following platforms. Applications without this specific experience will not be considered: Software Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in SolidWorks for design/modeling and Mastercam for complex multi-axis programming. Advanced Equipment: Proven proficiency on multi-axis, dual-turret/dual-spindle lathes (e.g., Nakamura-Tome SC-100x2 or equivalent) and high-end 5-axis vertical machining centers (e.g., Microdynamics TERA 50VT). Controller Proficiency: In-depth working knowledge of high-end Mitsubishi controllers and Fanuc controls. Applicants must be comfortable with complex programming, parameter adjustments, and troubleshooting on these systems. Multi-Axis Expertise: Ability to program and set up complex 7-axis turning operations and full 5-axis milling processes. Metrology: Expert-level proficiency with CMM systems (optical, laser, and touch probe) for first-article and in-process inspection. Experience with Keyence CMM systems is a significant asset.
Required Qualifications: Experience: Minimum 5+ years of dedicated CNC setup and programming experience in a high-precision, low-to-medium volume production environment. Technical Literacy: Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation. Ability to program directly at the machine or via CAM software. Machining Fundamentals: Deep understanding of feeds, speeds, and cutting tool fundamentals. Setup & Quality: Proven ability to independently set up jobs, achieve first-off approval, and maintain consistent quality during extended production runs. Tools: Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.). Professionalism: Strong problem-solving aptitude, mechanical maturity, reliable attendance, and a strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Automotive, aerospace, or high-precision manufacturing background. Extensive fixture setup and changeover experience. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 lb. Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
