Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and administrative training to technicians in an on-the-job setting, as directed or approved by Fixed Operations Management.
  • Lead daily technician circles to ensure team motivation, address concerns, and encourage positive behavior.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, including product bulletins and manufacturer training, while fostering strong relationships with manufacturers for better communication and support.
  • Collaborate with the Service Manager to monitor the manufacturer’s technical certification programs, ensuring technicians remain current and score well on evaluations. Provide opportunities for technicians to access training and upskill.
  • Supervise apprentices and technicians to ensure proper inspections are carried out and recommendations made.
  • Assist technicians and apprentices in properly documenting repair order details, including the complaint, cause, and corrective action.
  • Ensure the maintenance inspection (MPI) is thoroughly completed and properly documented.
  • Develop documented action plans for process improvements based on ongoing review and analysis of service performance data.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of workshop experience preferred
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ontario Automotive Technician License
  • Ozone Depletion Prevention Card
  • Proven experience in supervising in an automotive environment
