The position will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This team works in an environment that operates 24/7.
This position requires that the candidate selected obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Government of Canada.
Due to the nature of the role that requires interaction with other Amazon entities globally and with Amazon employees and stakeholders in other provinces in Canada, bilingualism French and English is required for this position.

-
Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures aligned with industry best practices and required SLAs
-
Maintain the on-call schedule while coordinating team absences and vacation coverage

A day in the life
A Day in the Life: Data Center Manager
The day begins with a review of overnight alerts and the open ticket queue. By standup, priorities are set, work is assigned, and the team is aligned on what needs to move.
Mid-morning shifts to people leadership. One-on-ones, career development conversations, and interviews are a regular part of the week. Growing the team is as important as running it.
Afternoons bring KPI reviews, cross-functional calls with engineering, capacity planning, and facilities teams, and process improvement work that keeps operations running smoothly across multiple sites.
When a large scale event hits, the role shifts to call leader. Fast decisions, clear communication, and a structured response are what the team and the business depend on.
No two days are identical. That is what makes this role worth showing up for.
