Agilus is recruiting for a Director of Projects/Senior Project Manager in the Engineering Consultancy Sector in Calgary, Alberta. Lead EPC projects and oversee a portfolio of work in a small, agile EPCM firm. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on project delivery.
A Typical Day
- Manage full lifecycle of select EPC projects, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
- Oversee project portfolio and mentor project managers to ensure consistent delivery standards.
- Lead proposal development, scope definition, estimating, and scheduling for new projects.
- Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) to monitor performance and forecast outcomes.
- Develop integrated project schedules and manage schedule risks proactively.
- Manage procurement processes, including bid packages, vendor selection, and contract negotiation.
- Support claims management and issue resolution with a proactive, documentation-driven approach.
- Serve as a senior escalation point for project issues and client concerns.
Successful Candidates Will Have
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; PMP certification is an asset.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in EPC project management.
- Proven ability to manage multiple small to mid-sized projects concurrently.
- Strong background in scope development, estimating, and change management.
- Experience with both lump sum and cost-reimbursable contract models.
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, conflict resolution, and team leadership.
- Proficient in EVM, project controls, and risk mitigation planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
