Job Description Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. Metrolinx operates GO Transit and UP Express, as well as the PRESTO fare payment system. We are also building new and improved rapid transit, including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit routes, and major expansions to Toronto’s subway system, to get people where they need to go, better, faster and easier. Our Planning team is seeking an Analyst, Fare Integration Program Analytics and Deliveryto support analytics, reporting, performance monitoring, and coordination for regional fare integration programs, including Ontario’s One Fare Program.
The role focuses on developing and maintaining data-driven reporting and dashboards, integrating data from multiple sources, and supporting program performance monitoring across participating transit agencies. The Analyst will work with ridership, transfer, and financial data to produce high-quality analytics and reporting that support program administration, operational decision-making, and continuous improvement of fare integration initiatives across the region. The role also supports day-to-day program management, coordination, and administration.
What will I be doing?
- Responsible for daily fare and service integration program coordination and management activities to meet established objectives including preparation of detailed and timely reports/analytics, updating schedules and project management documents, and maintaining automated business intelligence and reporting tools.
- Gathers/prepares and analyzes data across participating transit agencies, integrating and analyzing data from multiple sources, including ridership, transfer, financial, subsidy, program budgets, customer and feedback. Using visualizations, dashboards, and concise summaries of this data to identify implications, support recommendations for provincial and municipal fare and service integration activities.
- Develops standard monthly, quarterly and annual reports on fare integration programs, ensuring quality, accuracy, and consistency of reporting outputs, applying data validation and quality assurance practices.
- Coordinates, monitors, and supports program administration activities, including financial reconciliation, ensuring all activities are completed on schedule and within allocated funds.
- Supports presentations and briefing material for senior staff and management by gathering and organizing data into an appropriate format for presentation, ensuring the quality and relevance of key messages.
- Maintains positive relationships with multiple stakeholders, including internal business units, transit agencies, the Ministry of Transportation, and vendors.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?
- Completion of a bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, urban planning, engineering, or a related discipline – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Experience in project program reporting, administration, and data analysis. Experience in transit and/or transportation related analysis, performance reporting, and business intelligence is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience using Power BI to develop dashboards and data visualizations, including experience working with data models and automated reporting workflows.
- Experience coordinating and managing data inputs, monitoring performance, and producing reports with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analysis and using tools like advanced Excel Power BI, and SQL, to manipulate, analyze, and visualize datasets through automated dashboards.
- Strong understanding of project and program management principles, including monitoring schedule, budget, and key performance indicators.
- Experience working with large operational or transactional datasets, integrating multiple data sources to produce consistent reporting outputs, especially in the transit or transportation industry, is an asset.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly through visualizations, dashboards, and written summaries.
- Interpersonal and oral/written/presentation communication skills to develop and deliver compelling briefing, communication and presentation materials for a wide range of audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including process and workflow analysis.
