THE JOB
Ambipar Response Canada Inc. is looking for a Spill Response Project Manager to support our existing emergency response team in the Grande Prairie and Fort St John area.
This position is responsible for planning and ensuring completion of Response projects while managing budgets and procedures, leading and developing a team, and liaising with clients, suppliers and other Ridgeline leadership.
This position is primarily office based (70-80%) and at times will require travel to field locations to assist in emergency response activities. Due to the nature of the work, schedules will occasionally need to be flexible and response to an incident is required on short notice. This could involve longer than usual workday hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES AT HAND:

Liase between General Managers, Subject Matter Experts, Clients and Field Professionals regarding project plan and status updates.

Develop and direct Emergency Responders/Environmental Consultants.

Direct technical infield procedures.
-
Lead project team including creating scopes of work, and task delegation to meet project goals.

Ensure clear and concise project communication with clients and regulators.
-
Manage project budget and timelines.
-
Ensure field work quality, efficiency, and attention to safety.
-
Manage revenue generation, projections, invoicing, and project reporting and documentation.
-
Participate in weekly on-call schedule.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Environmental Science, Land Reclamation, Biological Sciences or equivalent.
-
5 + Years of relevant professional field experience in environmental site remediation and reclamation projects on public and private lands.
-
Experience working in a safety sensitive environment.
-
Proven project management skills.
-
Knowledge of initial response, containment and recovery techniques, regulatory compliance, communication with stakeholders (clients, landowners, regulators).
-
Professional Designation or working towards a professional designation (i.e. AIA, APEGA, ASPB etc.) is considered an asset.
-
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
-
Proven experience leading a team.
-
Experience monitoring budgets and other information to anticipate needs and make necessary adjustments
